Link Practitioner

What is the Aberdeen Links service?

  • The Links Service is based in GP practices across Aberdeen City and is designed to help people with anything non-medical impacting negatively on their general health and wellbeing.
  • Link Practitioners help people identify and prioritise the issues that are currently affecting their quality of life.
  • Depending on what the individual service user needs and wants, Link Practitioners ‘link’ them to those organisations, services and groups which can best support them.
  • The Links Service is intended to be a short/medium term service.
  • Although we receive most of our referrals from GPs, anyone formally attached to the GP surgery can refer people to us

How can Aberdeen Links help?

  • Link Practitioners can refer into services which have the expertise to provide advice and support for any non-medical issues currently affecting someone’s life. These include:
    • Local activities and social groups to help with loneliness and isolation
    • Care providers and carers’ support groups
    • Non-clinical mental health support for mild/moderate symptoms
    • Volunteering opportunities to help build confidence and combat social isolation
    • Money and benefits advice, debt management and budgeting
    • Getting into work, training and education

Please contact the Practice to be referred.
